Books in our Nursery

As I am a primary school teacher and an avid reader myself our house is full of children’s books.  Actually because David is also a bookworm our whole house is filled with a wide range of books and reading material.  These are the first few books that have made it up to the nursery.  We keep most of the children’s books in the playroom but this is our nursery collection so far …

Elmer’s Colours by David McKee

Little Owl by Piers Harper

The Lion Storyteller Bible

Brave Koala by Rebecca Johnson

Wombat’s Secret by Rebecca Johnson

Pelican’s Pride by Rebecca Johnson

Tanka Tanka Skunk by Steve Webb (one of my favourite readalouds!)

The Way Back Home by Oliver Jeffers

Handa’s Surprise by Eileen Brown

I Love You Sleepyhead by Claire Freedman (a beautiful bedtime rhyming story)

Tiny Twosome by Margaret O’hair

Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell

There Was an Old Woman who Swallowed a Fly

Baby Einstein Mirror Me

I Love You as Big as the World by David Van Buren and Tim Warnes

How to Catch a Star by Oliver Jeffers (The first book we ever bought and read Esther)

Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers (The first book we ever bought and read William)

Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andreae (A beautiful book with a lovely message)

Rip and Rap by Amanda White (about twin sheep dogs)

Tales from the Australian Bush by Doris Rust (This and the Rebecca Johnson books are because Aunty Julie lives in Australia)

Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney

The Classic Tales of Brer Rabbit (A childhood favourite of mine)
